emily lombardo is a multi-disciplinary artist working in a variety of mediums, including acrylic painting, textile sculpture, installation, collage, and more. emily graduated from the university of ottawa's bachelor of fine arts program in 2023, and won the department of visual arts sculpture prize in 2023 for her work titled "fabric sculpture." through her art, she hopes to evoke a feeling of deep nostalgia, playing with ideas of girlhood, womanhood, memories, while including materials and colours that remind her of her childhood. she aims to convey her own feeling of longing for a time that once existed that she cannot return to, while also lifting spirits and evoking positive, bright feelings of joy and playfulness.
