double take

october 17 - 21 2022

these works are a culmination of multiple studies on creation and destruction, installation, painting, textiles, and space.

sometimes when one looks at a discarded or abandoned, broken object, or pieces of cloth one sees new possibilities. these possibilities might include memories of distant times, reflections (political or otherwise) on current times, be humorous, colorful, or evoke the complexity of form that is just beautiful.

these reconstructions in turn can engage the observer in similar or different and personal ways. as the observer walks by a visual double take can create new possibilities as discarded objects take on new lives.

these are the possibilities explored in the group show "double take" presented by three 4th year bachelor of fine arts students from the university of ottawa.
